The Hovercraft Ionostrofear Fuzz is a boutique effect pedal produced by Portland-based Hovercraft Amplifiers. It is highly regarded for its massive, amp-like gain and versatility, capable of ranging from a "fidelity boost" to a heavy, "continental-scale" fuzz.

  • Massive Sound Profile: Often described as an Big Muff running through a Sunn stack, it offers a thick, bass-heavy tone with significant headroom.
  • Versatile Gain Range: It functions as a cleanish boost at minimum gain, an airy vintage Marshall style overdrive at lower settings, and a crushing fuzz when pushed.
  • Physical Build: Designed like a "muscle car," it features protective metal "roll bar" bumpers to prevent accidental knob adjustments and often uses vintage NOS fluted control knobs
  • Controls: Simple three-knob layout for Volume, Tone, and Gain.
