Fender Deluxe Case
The Fender Custom Shop 1961 Precision Bass Relic is a punctilious reincarnation of a legend. In 1957, Fender gave the first electric bass its second major makeover, in the process creating the instrument as we know it today. The early ’60s saw the P Bass become an industry standard, punching up Motown hits and underpinning chart-topping surf pop — harbingers of the Fender-bass-driven rock revolution to come. Fender’s world-class Custom Shop luthiers painstakingly handcrafted the Limited Edition ’61 Precision, complete with vintage specs such as its 2-piece select alder body with Relic lacquer finish and 4-ply aged tortoiseshell pickguard, vintage-style bridge and tuners, quartersawn maple neck with a 1960 P Bass Oval “C” profile, and flat-laminated AAA rosewood fingerboard. While remaining faithful to its vintage bona fides, this bass also includes a few modern, high-performance upgrades that enhance playability and sonics, such as a 9.5-inch radius and a hand-wound ’62 P Bass pickup that delivers that unmistakable, punchy P Bass bottom heard on countless iconic recordings. Play a bass legend: the Fender Custom Shop 1961 Precision Bass Relic.
